Jesse Williams' Speech (BET Awards 2016)

When I came across this speech on Twitter, I didn't yet know how bad it would get. It still felt like Twitter was worth sticking around for for the few revelations like this it would throw up. From my feed, I could see insights into the lives of 'people of colour' in the US. I could see - could hardly help but see - the extra-judicial murder of unarmed black people at the hands of police. I didn't know Jesse Williams when I came across this short, powerful speech. Still now, I cannot imagine ever being so articulate as he is here. I can only reflect on how articulate black people have to be for their voices to be heard at all. The power and concission of this speech is staggering. Please, make time for it. You will not help but then reflect upon it. We all could benefit from that.
